Bizzy Coy: Publish Your Writing (Feb 8th)

$40.00

PUBLISH YOUR WRITING
SATURDAY, FEB 8TH
1-3PM

Get yourself ready to publish! This workshop is for writers of all ages and experience levels, whether you write poems, plays, memoirs, novels, short stories, comic books or anything else.

Sullivan County humor and fiction writer Bizzy Coy will be your friendly guide for the afternoon. She’ll share her personal experience publishing nationally (The New Yorker, McSweeney’s) and locally (Grand Journal, Litt Magazine). She’ll also talk about the process of self-publishing her first book…and the hundreds of rejections she’s received over many years of writing.

The bulk of our workshop will center on YOUR publishing goals and how to reach them. We’ll discuss submission strategies, how to make connections in the literary world, ways to fund self-publishing, overcoming psychological barriers to sharing your work, handling rejection and so much more.

You’ll get a copy of Bizzy’s brand-new zine about publishing, filled with tips, tactics and encouragement for your journey, as well as a long list of opportunities available to you right here in Sullivan County.

More about Bizzy: Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, Vulture, The Belladonna, The Establishment, Points in Case, Litt Magazine and Grand Journal.
